Iron sharpens iron

Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another. Does this ring a bell for you? Better yet, does this make sense to you? It is pretty simple and you are smart so I am guessing it does make sense. Now for the tough question, are you applying this to your life?

If you are not sharpening your skills through other men or women you are wrong, plain and simple. No matter what area you are trying to improve (which should be every area) you need some guidance. Sure, you may know a lot in your field but you don’t know everything. And what about the areas in your life that aren’t your expetise? If you are not getting guidance you are leaving a lot on the table in life. We all need mentors or coaches to help prepare us for the next seasons of our life.

Whether you are blessed with one who will help you for free or have to pay for someone to help guide you, find a mentor. This is beneficial for you and the people you aim to help in life. You will have the opportunity to learn through others experiences, which will allow you to make better decisions in your life. You will still have to live your own experiences but you can learn and grow quickly in a more efficient fashion.

Mentors are a must in life. As iron sharpens iron, so one man must sharpen another. Simple yet hard truth for a lot of us men to accept but trust me, you will be more successful in life.

“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another” Proverbs 27:17
